Hello all, I'm looking into do the 7mgte or 2jzgte swap and have read that all I need to do to keep my auto box is swap the bell housing with a supra bell housing. with the f series xmsn what is the custom wiring I see in past post? Has anyone done this swapand stayed with an auto xmsn? Any help would be great from people who have done it. And last for the price why should I take the 7m over the 2jz motor?

what is an xmsm.

Yes you can use the 7m transmission behind the 2JZGTE, but you need a 2JZGE bellhousing since they are shorter.

I'm using my 4 runner transmission (xmsn) behing a 7mgte or 2jz. Sorry for the misunderstanding. And thank you for taking the time to answer. I'm looking for a supra bell housing now. I'm just now really starting to gather parts but I stil have to decide on a 7mg or 2jz.

2JZ's are a bit more reliable. THey are a little longer, but run better, can handle more HP, and don't chew up bearings like 7M's do.

Get an N/A and turbocharged it for $1200.
