hi all

i have a 7mge in my truck, and i feel that the axles are dieing... Sad
i can fix those axles, and the problem would come back

or.. i could swap some portals under it, i live in germany, so those things are cheap (200$ a piece) actualy it would be cheaper than fix my toy axles....

but will the motor have enough power for those heavy axles or do i need to swap the motor to??

thx
sid

I would not go portals. The problem isn't the power to weight ratio, it is more just overall weight. If you want the cheapest route, go 14 bolt. Not as heavy as unimog, but you do loose some clearance. Or you could go 35 spline D60 or Forn 9". Or, you could go with some crome-moly toyota axles.

I would break 31 spline axles about every month with my setup. I was running 38" tires and locked.

and that chromo stuff would be to expensive on shipping, and i dont beliefe that it dousnt break... Very Happy

u really think a dana 60 is lighter than an unimogaxle?

quite a bit lighter. Unimogs have all the reduction stuff on the ends, that stuff is HEAVY!

You guy have got to have something else over there? You a have got to have D60's and 14 bolts. Don't you have any full size chevy, ford, or dodge trucks overthere?

oh, you looking for a front axle? You don't need a big heavy duty front axle..unless you plan on doing some SERIOUS rock climbing
