I usually like to run 20-50. Is a little thicker, so is bad for cold starts

I followed your advice on that one and have not had a problem using 20-50. (I think it cured my valve stem oil leak too!) However I’m noticing my oil pressure is now getting lower and lower… Could it be killing the oil pump??? I always keep it on the high side of the dipstick but lately the pressure at idle is all most nothing…. Shocked

That is pretty normal for the 7MGTE's. You should get yourself an oil filter relocation kit and get rid of stock one. It bypasses your engine and dumps oil right back into the pan.

Pretty much the same with redline as well...although I would choose redline over royal purple.

All synthetics are expensive...usually hang around $5 a quart. These other two companies also do some other stuff and specialize in high quality racing lubrication....is it worth the money....I think so, but I wouldn't use it for motor oil...I use it for gear oil, or ATF. I usually go Mobile1 synthetic...and only for turbo applications, it helps improve the life of the turbo.
